Obverse: left-facing armoured bust with 'JOHN JERVIS EARL OF ST VINCENT ADMIRAL OF THE WHITE' with 'BORN JANUARY 26 1733' below with 'HANCOCK' to the shoulder. Reverse: Hispania reclines next to a Spanish shield while a sea battle rages in the background, 'FEBRUARY 14 1797.' below with 'P · K' at the bottom and 'WITH 22 SHIPS AND 1428 GUNS PURSUED & DEFEATED THE SPANISH FLEET OF 37 SHIPS & 2600 GUNS FOUR SHIPS AND 382 GUNS TAKEN' above.
