SIEGE OF PARIS - "BALLON MONTE" COVER FROM PARIS TO NANTES: 6 Jan. 1870 EL (3 sides of script on thin paper in v. fine condition) with a 20c stamp tied by a faint Paris Star (possibly "37") with faint "PARIS/PL. DE LA [?]" cds adjacent, endorsed "Ballon Monte" and fine "NANTES" receiving cds on the reverse. Flown from Paris by the balloon 'Le Duquesne' during the Paris siege in the Franco-Prussian war.
