NAPOLEONIC WARS AFTERMATH - HANOVER/G.B. - CHELSEA PENSIONERS' FREE MAIL COVERS & DOCUMENTS; 1796/1817 pair of ELs (1796 with m/s "Frey O") sent in Saxony ex Hanover, the first with "Pro Memoria" contents of the Widows & Orphans Fund, and the other with a fine to very fine rare German usage of the "Chelsea-Pensioners/Pay-Office" authorisation mark on the front (this was the free mail system for those who had fought in the Allied forces - both German & British - at Waterloo); plus 1822/23 pair of receipts for pension payments, unused printed 1815 pension claim-form, 1837 printed "PRO MEMORIA" circular ex Hanover "British Pay Office", and 1837 account for pensions paid.
