A 19th century white metal and horn handled sword, likely an Indonesian parang or pedang, with silver scabbard elaborately repousse decorated and engraved with diamond patterns panels alternating with panels of scrolling foliage, stylised leaf borders, a line of text to the top rim, the pommel and handle carved from a single piece of horn, finely carved with scrolling foliage and covered by three cylindrical pieces of silver to form the handle, blade unmarked, the white metal unmarked but some testing as silver, blade 62cm, scabbard 6 by 3 by 63.5cm, 80.5cm long overall.
