Property of a deceased estate - stamps, philatelic & postal history interest - GREAT BRITAIN: 1840 VR 1D BLACK NA A SUPERB UNUSED EXAMPLE WITH FULL SHEET MARGIN AT LEFT, showing marginal inscription ‘Per Row of 12. £1...’ clear to large margins on other sides, unused without gum (as is frequently the case for this stamp). Tiny natural paper inclusion in left margin mentioned for accuracy. A LOVELY EXAMPLE OF THIS RARITY. Note: This example was previously sold by Edgar Mohrmann in 1956 (Dec 13th-15th), and more recently by David Feldman in 1996 (Nov 3rd –8th), when it was described as having ‘a few thin spots’. We have examined the stamp most carefully, and can find no trace of any thin spots (extra images available).
