A collection of five medallions relating to the Croquet cup awarded to Patrick Duff Matthews (Duffer 1886 - 1951). Inc three sterling silver examples (two marks rubbed) medal A county Meath player. The family were prominent Catholics with significant clerical business and political interest. One business was the Drogheda Steam packet company. Matthews was educated at New College, Oxford and was subsequently a Barrister qualifying in 1914. Further information can be found www.dib.ie.
