After Antoine-Louis Barye (French, Paris 1795-1875): a 19th century bronze of fine detail and good dark patination, 'Roman Jester' (Petit Fou de Rome), raised upon a variegated rouge marble base (19.5cm), it is noted that some of these scarce bronzes were cast by Barbedienne foundry although not all were cast with a foundry mark.
