possibly Shang or Western Zhou period, gently curved and carved in the form of the insect, with added incised detail, 4.5cm long x 2cm wide, in a fitted wooden box

Provenance: An English private collection. Acquired in Tokyo in the 1990's by the grandfather of the present owner, and thence by descent.
