Works signed by the artists Lamorna Birch and Ernest Procter 'Women Poets', inscribed 'From a mouse to a bear', believed to be referencing Samuel John "Lamorna" Birch from his wife, Emily Vivian Houghton, who was affectionately nicknamed 'Mouse'. Flat-signed by S.L. Birch and dated July 16th, 1902; together with Lytton Strachey (Bloomsbury Group), 'Elizabeth and Essex', Chatto & Windus, 1928, signed by Ernest Procter with his address of 32 Elsworthy Road, where he lived after having lived in Newlyn.
