A VICTORIAN GROUP OF SIX TO THE ROYAL NAVY.
A group of six comprising Egypt Medal with undated reverse named to W. Hewitt Stoker HMS Euryalus, Queens South Africa Medal and, China Medal as Chief Stoker aboard HMS Terrible, 14-18 War Medal with number 119940 and Long Service and Good Conduct medal when aboard HMS Alacrity and Khedive's Star, unnmaed as issued. Mounted with new ribbons for display. William Hewitt was born in Southsea on the 27th June 1864, the 1901 census records him as a married man aboard HMS Terrible in Weihaiwei in Cihina. Hewitt's service record record him as serving aboard a large number of ships, perhaps Terirble for the longest period of time. Sold with copied service Record.
