France; 1870 (14 Nov.) entire to London, franked Laureated 30c ("4" in start cancel) marked manuscript "par Ballon monté", "PARIS/R D'ENGHIEN" c.d.s. to side, other markings inc. "FRANCE/OUEST 3" c.d.s. on reverse (23 Nov.). Carried therefore by the balloon "Général Uhrich" - this was the first night flight. Generally decent condition, but part missing when fully opened out.
