A smokebox numberplate, 5256, from a GWR 4200 Class 2-8-0T built at Swindon in February 1940 to replace an earlier engine with the same number built in December 1925 and rebuilt as 2-8-2T No 7221 in September 1935. It spent its BR days at Ebbw Junction and nearby Newport Pill from where it was withdrawn in March 1963 and sold for scrap to Birds at Bridgend. The front repainted. (Postage Band: D)
