Provenance: The canapé - Christie’s Scone Palace, 24th May 2007, where stated - ‘’The canapé was almost certainly acquired by David Murray, 2nd Earl of Mansfield and 7th Viscount Stormont (d. 1796), in the mid 1770’s during his service as George III’s ambassador to the court of Louis XVI’; The fauteuils - Dreweatts, Donnington Priory 25th February 2015; thence Private collection Guernsey

Look to have been repainted within the past 10 - 20 years, now with numerous small dents, scuffs and signs of old damage to the frames beneath the paint, upholstery in good order.
