** RARE GIBRALTAR "No.5" & "No.6" CENSOR MARKS ON U.S. POSTCARDS TO GERMANY/FRANCE (ONE RETURNED); 19 Jan. 1941 usage of US 1c Green P. Stat. PC ex LA uprated with 2c to Vendome with v. fine very rare purple unframed Bermuda usage of the 'Gibraltar' "PASSED/BY/EXAMINER/[Crown]/No./6" mark on the front (partly overstruck by purple "RETURN TO SENDER/SERVICE SUSPENDED"); plus similar 30 Jan. 1941 1c Green PC ex Curtiss (Wisc.) uprated with 2c to Leipzig with v. fine very rare grey-blue unframed Bermuda usage of the 'Gibraltar' "PASSED/BY/EXAMINER/[Crown]/No./5" mark on the front. Flynn (2006) only recorded 8 Bermuda usages of these numbered Gibraltar marks (all on postcards). Both of Exhibition Quality. (2 cards)
