AN EXCEPTIONAL 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY, ROSEWOOD & SATINWOOD 8 DAY STRIKING LONGCASE CLOCK, this is a really stunning antique timepiece from the swan neck pediment to the bracket feet the piece is decorated beautifully. The dial within the hood has decorative brass hour & minute hands, and a smaller date aperture with date wheel, and is surrounded by hand painted floral brackets & a demi lune picture panel to the top showing a farmer resting in a landscape. The case is decorated all over with satinwood string inlay & hand-painted floral & foliage details. The door & base have a large painted oval image showing female figures which are surrounded with floral swags & ribbons. The clock comes with pendulum and weights, along with original key, all raised on bracket feet. Dimensions: 237cm tall x 50 x 24cm (W x D).
