NSKK dagger with cross-hatched carved wooden grip, the double-edged blade etched "Alles fur Deutschland", the reverse acid etched inscription address and etched signature for J Meyer-Quade and dated 1935. Meyer-Quade was a senior and early member of the NSDAP (Joined June 1925, membership number 7,608), NASDAP member of the Reichstag Sept 1930-May 1932, Prussian State Parliament May 1932-1933, Police chief of Kiel April 1934-July 1934 when he became a member of the "peoples court"
The blade has the markings for the maker of Aesculap in Tuttlingen. Good brown painted scabbard and unmarked original leather and metal clasp.
National Socialist Motor Corps (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps, NSKK) was a paramilitary organization of the Nazi Party (NSDAP) that officially existed from May 1931 to 1945.
Joachim Meyer-Quade (born Dusseldorf 22-11-1897, died Piatek, Poland 10-09-1939).
Joined the Field Artillery Regiment No 84 in Ypres on 21 Jan 1915, on 1st November the 99th infantry serving at Flanders, Verdun and the Somme then became a French POW.After the war he worked in agriculture becoming an agricultural inspector until 1926.
He joined the NSDAP (no 7608) in June 1925and soon became a leading national socialist in the Schleswig-Holstein province. He joined the SA in July 1927reaching the rank of SA Oberfuhrer in July 1932.
He was elected for the NASDAP to the Reichstag in September 1930 until May 1932 then he moved onto the Prussian State Parliament until 1933. He was chairman of the agricultural committee.
After the National Socialists came to power Meyer-Quade took on various state offices including district administrator of the Schleswig district. From April 1934 he was police chief of Kiel before joining the "Peoples court". From Sept 1935 he led the SA group Nordmark. On 9th November 1938 he telephoned his deputy Carl Volquardsen to start the pogroms from Munichin Scheswig-Holstein where all the synagogues and assembly rooms were destroyed, almost all jews were arrested and the men deported to Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
In 1939 Mayer-Quade took part of the attack on Poland with the rank of lieutenant and leader of an infantry rifle company. He was killed less than 2 weeks after the start of the war at Piatek, Poland, the National Socialists took the death as an opportunity to develop a personality cult. A square was named after him in his hometown.
