A good late 19th century Scottish Field Officer's sword, slender double fullered blade 32½", by Gardiner & Co, Argyle St, Glasgow, etched with thistle wreaths and scrolls, the hilt with plated pierced scroll guard, silver wire bound fish skin covered grip and red felt covered buff leather liner, in its plated steel scabbard. Near VGC, blade and hilt retaining most original polish (slight wear to scabbard and hilt liner). £400-600
