A large Samson of Paris Famille Verte powder blue ground porcelain jardiniere, mid/late 19th century. The exterior decorated with overlapping shaped panels painted in the famille verte palette depicting a river landscape together with a variety of flowers including prunus and chrysanthemums issuing from rockwork, all reserved on a powder blue ground with further gilt floral decoration. Mark of Edme Samson et Cie painted beneath. 29.3 cm height, 35 cm diameter.
Condition report: Firing fault to rim and hairline extended from this point.
