Cuthbert Leicester-Warren (1877-1954) was a son of Sir Baldwyn Leighton 8th Baronet (1836-1897) and the Honourable Eleanor Leicester-Warren (from 1900 Eleanor Leicester-Leighton-Warren) (1841-1914), daughter of George Fleming Warren 2nd Baron De Tabley, of Loton Park, Shropshire and Catherina Barbara De Salis.
Catherine Barbara Leighton-Warren, painter and photographer, was the sitter’s elder sister. She married in 1909 Arthur Frederick Sotheby (1871-1949), youngest son of Admiral Sir Edward Southwell Sotherby KCB (1813-1902)
Light craquelure and several small scratches, varnish yellowed with age, unlined, in the original later Victorian gilt cavetto frame
