The 1992 Jaguar XJRS 6.0 litre offered here has been subject to a major restoration over a 4 year period. The engine and gearbox were removed, along with front and rear axles, and all of these components received major attention. The engine benefited from a total high spec rebuild, including all ancillaries and radiator, and the gearbox was rebuilt with a new convertor. The front axle was very poor and therefore everything was replaced, including the front beam. All were new original where possible. The rear end had previous work done, so the mounts and suspension bearings were replaced, along with new radius arms. The wheels were sent for refurbishment.
While this was all happening, the body shop clocked up 283 hours of labour including painting. The car was then fully reassembled and tested to check that everything was as it should be. The headlining then decided to drop, so was replaced. All this was carried out at the Jaguar Workshop, which at the time was owned by the vendor.
The car has been in the vendor’s personal ownership since 2019 and is now being sold due to health problems. There is not a massive amount of history with the car but it does come with workshop manual, owner’s handbook pouch and some other interesting original Jaguar update service books. There are a few minor problems according to the vendor, the N/S front wing showing small micro blisters due to careless mechanics use of silicon spray, the dash veneer is showing early signs of ageing, and the bonnet and boot could do with insulation kits being fitted.
