The Mercedes-Benz W114 and W115 models are a series of Saloons and Coupés built from 1968 to 1976. W114 models had six-cylinder engines and were sold as the 230, 250, and 280, while W115 models had four-cylinder engines and were marketed as the 200, 220, 230, and 240. All were styled by Paul Bracq.

The W114/W115 models were the first post-war Mercedes-Benz production car to use a newly engineered chassis format of semi-trailing rear arms and ball-joint front end. Mercedes introduced the Coupé in 1969, with a 2.5 or 2.8 litre six-cylinder engine, and the pillarless design allowed all the windows to be lowered completely for open air motoring. Only 67,048 Coupés were built, and 1,852,008 saloons. The W114 received a facelift in 1973, with a lower bonnet-line, lower and broader grill, a single front bumper, and lower headlights, removal of the front quarter-lights, ribbed tail lights, and larger side mirrors. The interior received inertia reel belts and a new padded steering wheel.

This is a very rare Mercedes 280e W114/115 Series. One of the rarest Mercedes you will ever find. This was the top of the range 280e, more expensive than an S class when new. A 200bhp Twin Cam fuel injected engine, with a leather interior, air-conditioning and power steering all standard. This is a very fast car and very fast appreciating classic which has just had £5,000 spent on it. Every rubber bush, the steering rack, and all the shock absorbers have been replaced.

The car has had one owner since new, there is a full book pack and service history. The car was delivered new to the South African Cape Wine Farming district in 1975. This car needs nothing and is an amazing classic that will maintain 120 mph. The car looks fantastic in period Green over Tan Leather, which has just been totally refurbished at a cost of £1,500. This Mercedes is stunning in every way, a really cool classic.
