A COLLECTION OF SILVER SPOONS, various ages: (i) A Birmingham silver spoon, date letter of ‘V’ for 1970, maker’s mark of B.Ld for Bishton’s Ltd. Decorated to the tip with scrolling detail. (ii) Another Birmingham spoon by Wilmot Manufacturing Co. Date letter of ‘N’ for 1937. (iii) A German silver plated cream/sauce ladle – maker’s name to the stem Hoogen 100. Lovely art nouveau style decorated to the tip both front & back. 15.5cm long. (iv) An 18 century silver spoon - much older spoon to the previous; Maker’s mark is rubbed but possibly HB for Hester Bateman, date letter of ‘g’ with lion passant: 1782. (v) Another older; likely 18th century; maker’s mark is very rubbed but possibly R.S for Robert Sallam. Lion passant present but no date letter; lovely scrolling decorative detail to the back of the spoon and engraved to tip with initials. Total weight of the silver spoons: 1.5ozt.
