Pilkingtons Royal Lancastrian small covered jar, by R Joyce, circa 1914-38, decorated with bass swimming amidst seaweed, in copper lustrous colours against a blue ground, painted and impressed marks, height 9.5cm
In our opinion the cover has been professionally restored to a high standard. We have used UV light to assess the extent of the restoration; but this has proven to be inclusive.
The body of the jar is in good condition overall. There are minute surface scratches visible. However in our view these are not of detriment to the piece itself.
