A large Sèvres-style porcelain and gilt-metal vase converted to a standard lamp, 20th century, of ovoid baluster form, the maroon ground reserved with ovoid panels transfer-print decorated with pastoral scenes, bearing signatures E. Rouly and Gilbert, the panels surrounded with elaborate gilded foliate and trellis decoration with musical trophy and fan, the maroon socle similarly gilded, the vase mounted with gilt-metal twin handles designed as laurel garlands to notched pilasters with acanthus leaves, the gilt-metal stepped square base with blank cartouches and foliage, wired for electricity, with large cream fabric shade, approx. 139cm high
