A rare Russian Faberge bejewelled gold and silver cigarette presentation case, marked Mikhail Perkhin (1860-1903)

The cigarette case features a Russian imperial seal adorned with a diamond and is crafted from 24k gold. It also has a cabochon sapphire-inset push button. The gilt interior bears the maker's mark of Mikhail Perkhin (1860-1903).



Mikhail Perkhin was one of the most prominent workmasters at the House of Faberge, second only to the famous Michael Evlampievich Perchin. Perkhin was particularly known for his attention to detail and ability to work with various materials, including gold, silver, and enamel. He worked for Faberge from 1884 until his death in 1903 and was responsible for creating some of the most intricate and luxurious objects, including cigarette cases, jewellery, and the iconic Faberge eggs.
