A North Shields, Tyneside pink lustre jug c.1840, attributed to Cornfoot, Carr & Patton, Low Lights, North Shields, bearing the Mariner's Arms to one side and motto "Deus Dabit Vela" (God will give wind), a sailing ship to the other inscribed "Success to the Coal Trade", and a poem to the front "On boards and broken pieces toss'd And death each hour at hand, "Yet through our pilot none are lost, But all come safe to land", 22.9cm. high.
