German Third Reich Luftwaffe 2nd pattern Officer’s dagger with knot and straps by Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen
A good example, circa 1937-45, with spiral amber ivorine grip and twist wire binding, the plain blade bearing maker’s oval wreath and sword logo. The aluminium crossguard and langet bearing a flying eagle and swastika; the pommel ornamented with gilt swastika and oakleaves. Housed in its stippled silvered metal scabbard fitted with two suspension rings and worn foliate lockets. Complete with aluminium wire knot and silver laced, velvet-backed slings with oakleaf ornamented rectangular buckles and spring-clips; metal suspension clip. Minor service wear. VGC
