A late 18th century 16 bore target or holster pistol converted to percussion, by Knubley, sighted octagonal barrel 9" with oval gold poincon at the breech signed "Knubley, London"; stepped lock with safety bolt, the plate signed and engraved with fern tip border and floral sprays; walnut halfstock with silver fore-end cap and deeply chequered butt; large steel spurred trigger guard engraved with trophy, with pineapple finial and with set trigger; the replacement ramrod having silver tip. GWO & C (patches of staining to the barrel, safety bolt AF, the hammer a replacement). £350-450
