A striking, vintage figural figure of Louis Joseph de Bourbon, The Duc de Vendome. A very nicely figure and a great likeness with nice patina. H40cm.
"Duc de Vendome" was the illegitimate son of French King Henri IV and his mistress, Gabrielle d'Estrees. French general and Marshal of France. One of the great generals of his era, he was one of Louis XIV's most successful commanders in the War of the Grand Alliance and War of the Spanish Succession.
