English Civil War period Harness boss. Circa 17th century AD. Copper-alloy, 53.01g. 67.90 mm. An impressive cast bronze mount from a horse harness or carriage. The piece is formed of a large dome within a rope-style border, around are a series of triangular lugs detailed with foliate motifs. The dome is detailed in relief with the image of the Royal arms.
