Johann Georg Müller was a German painter and graphic artist. He initially studied civil engineering in Darmstadt and Munich, gave up his studies and trained himself using Pinakothek autodidactic works by Wilhelm Leibl and Hans Holbein. From 1937 freelance, 1938 by Nazis with exhibition ban. After the war he worked with the printmaking techniques of woodcut, etching and lithography. Early portraits and nudes testify to academically precise observation. In the 1950s, Cubist influences came to the fore. From 1949 to 1979 he participated in the exhibition of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Pfälzer Künstler (APK), member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft bildender Künstler am Mittelrhein (AKM), in 1956 he received the Palatinate Prize for Painting. Four years later he was awarded the Förderpreis für junge Künstler des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz. In 1965 he became a member of the Palatinate Secession. In 1983 he received the culture prize of the city of Koblenz. Müller's work is characterized by stylistic pluralism; among other things, directly inspired by Pablo Picasso (nude).
