A FINE GEORGE II MAHOGANY TRIPOD TABLE

the circular tip-up top with a baluster gallery, on a stop-fluted baluster shaft carved with a lower register of upright acanthus leaves, on a tripod base carved with scrolling acanthus leaves, beading and rocaille-work and ending in claw and ball feet, 61cm diameter x 73cm high

Provenance: Ven House, Milborne Port and almost certainly supplied for the house between 1755 and 1765. The underside of the top with two labels inscribed "Ven House Hall"and apparently recorded in a photograph of that room taken circa 1895.
