A mid-19th century coat, made from a good woven paisley shawl, gigot sleeves, the collar, inside bodice and sleeve trimming in black embossed silk/velvet, internal waist belt fastened with a buckle (no attribution), the front unfastening to knee level at the point where black velvet bows are applied, after which it is stitched closed, one side pocket in glazed cotton, tailored into the waist at the back and then gathered
