Property of a gentleman - Indian Mughal school, late 18th century - TWO ELEPHANTS FIGHTING, WITH FIGURES LOOKING ON - gouache on paper, 8.9 by 7.7ins. (22.5 by 19.5cms.), in glazed frame. Provenance - a gift to the vendor's grandmother by Brigadier Jack Gannon of the Indian Army, to whom it was given by an Indian priest in Muttra, according to labels on reverse.
