A smokebox numberplate 75040 from a BR Standard Class 4 4-6-0 built at Swindon and allocated new to Bedford in August 1953. Its later sheds were Accrington, Derby, Leicester Midland, Stoke and Carnforth from where it was withdrawn in October 1967 and sold for scrap to G. Cohen at Kettering in March 1968. Repainted, complete with its original bolts. (Postage Band: D)
