Lieutenant-Commander Robert Peverell Hichens D.S.O.,D.S.C.,R.N.V.R. Robert Hichens was a solicitor in Falmouth when war broke out. Three years later with the D.S.O. and Bar, D.S.C. and two Bars, Robert Hichens became the most decorated officer of the Royal Navy Voluntary Reserve, after 148 operations and 14 actions, he was killed by a chance shot in April 1943, scarce.
