A Pierced English Sterling Silver Sweetmeat Basket, Birmingham, 1911.

This sterling silver basket features an intricate openwork design with symmetrical foliate and scroll motifs rising from a raised circular foot. The gently scalloped rim enhances the refined floral pattern, casting delicate shadows when lit. The hallmark indicates it was crafted in Birmingham in 1911, with maker’s mark A&J Zimmerman Ltd (A&JZ). The piece is fully hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling, the Birmingham anchor, and the date letter ‘m’ for 1911.
