A traditionally constructed ash archer's bow with whipped detail to the grip, length 177cm.

Provenance - By repute this bow was made as a film prop for the 1991 movie Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner. The current owner's friend was approached in Alnwick, Northumberland by the film crew where the castle scenes of the movie were filmed. He was asked if he would like to take part in the film and was cast as one of Robin Hood's 'merry men'. The bow is one of the props that he retained at the end of filming.

Generally sound condition. The leather grip is a in a distressed finish to give it a more worn appearance.
