A FIRST AND SECOND WORLD WAR GROUP OF NINE TO THE ROYAL NAVY. A group of nine comprising Great War War Medal and victory Medal named to J.82510 S.B. Tunnell Ord R.N. Royal Navy General Service Medal 1915-62 with Palestine 1936-39 clasp named to KX 61288 S.B. Tunnell L Sto R.N. 1939-45, Atlantic, Africa (with North Africa 1942-43 clasp) Italy Star and War Medal with Mention in despatches oak leaf, all unnamed as issued and a George V Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named to K.61288 S.B. Tunnell L.Sto H.M.S. Royal Sovereign. Mounted as worn. Sydney Bernard Tunnell was born on the 26th May 1900 at Cranleigh, Surrey. He joined the Royal Navy on the 2nd January 1918 as Boy 2nd Class, initially joining for 12 years. He joined the engineering branch Acting Temporary Stoker on the 1st May 1919 and Leading Stoker 24th April 1926. Mounted for display with extensive copied research, original documents and a collection of photographs and images of life aboard ship, convoy action in the Second World War and others, 90 images.
As worn, slight marking to ribbons, generally good condition.
