A 19th century mahogany games compendium, the hinged cover centred with an inlaid brass cartouche, opening to a compartmentalised interior containing a cribbage board, five painted lead steeplechase horse figures, dominoes and chess pieces, a concertina folding gaming board, along with other associated gaming effects, playing cards, marbles, etc, over a vacant lower drawer applied with a brass inset swing handle, 19cm H x 44cm W x 24cm D (at fault)
Extensive abrasions to the case, repaired split 22cm long to the lid above the LH hinge. Broken brass lever bracket on the same hinge.
The drawer appears to be a different colour and is possibly associated, as it feels ‘tight’, front shard of drawer lining missing running the full width of drawer.
The folding games board is play worn with frayed edges and corners, the majority of the contents appear associated and incomplete
