A smokebox numberplate, 73008, from a BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0 built at Derby in July 1951 and allocated new to Perth although it spent several months when new at Rugby Testing Station undergoing static tests and various trials eventually reaching Perth in April 1952. In July 1964 it moved to Aberdeen Ferryhill from where it was withdrawn in September 1965 and sold for scrap to Motherwell Machinery & Scrap at Wishaw. The front repainted. (Postage Band: D)
