German Third Reich Land Customs Officer's Dagger straps with knot by F.W. Holler, Solingen. Fine rare example with wire bound dark green leather covered wooden grip, in 11 spirals; double edged plain plated blade etched with maker's thermometer in oval logo. Plated aluminium crossguard with central eagle and swastika. Oak leaf decorated pommel. Housed in its green leather covered scabbard with angled aluminium mounts bearing two loose hanging rings. Complete with hanging grren velvet and silver aluminium wire straps fitted with sword hanger and aluminium wire portapee (knot). Plating lifting in parts otherwise generally GC. Dagger was introduced in 1937. Vendor states this example was captured on the German-Austrian border.
