Pair of late George III silkwork tapestries, featuring a boy and a girl in a rural idyll, oval, 23cm x 17.5cm, mounted within later gilt frames
The milkmaid silk ground is shot (split) in places, both in the background and also through the centre of her face. The background is now rather brown. Much of the colour is faded. There are some loose threads in places.
The companion picture, again, is shot in the background. There is brown staining. It is quite rippled and faded to a similar extent as its companion picture.
Both are presented in late Victorian or Edwardian frames and mounts. The gilding being worn on the frame of the milkmaid.
