With download information on recipient, born 1828, commissioned to 1st Artillery Regt as Brevet 2nd Lt 1849, in 1861 he was promoted to the rank of Captain with the Commissary of Subsistence Depot at Harrisburg, where he was to purchase supplies for the Army of the Shenandoah under Major General Patterson, died 1901, GC £200-250
