1842 Jellalabad (Flying Victory) Medal named in running script to Pte R. McGowan 13th Foot, fitted with steel clip and bar suspension, generally very fine. With typed research and copy of article on this medal, Robert McGowan was born to Pte Thomas McGowan 17th Foot in Bengal 14/10/20, enlisted at Agra in 13th Foot 27/7/35 as a Boy, arrived UK from India 18/4/45, employed in recruiting duties in England and Ireland to 1851, promoted Sgt 1/6/55, discharged 28/6/59, a typed roll shows he exchanged his medal 19/1/53.
