A pair of Chinese silver and enamel boxes in the form of quails - probably early 20th century, the quails with amethyst and turquoise enamelled feathers and glass eyes, seated upon oval basket-form bases, each stamped 'Silver', the interiors gilt washed, 5.25cm and 5.5cm high.
