Railway Machinery: A Treatise on the Mechanical Engineering of Railways Two volumes, folio, quarter leather with cloth boards, rubbed and bumped with cracked hinges, vol I with loose front board, ex libris The University of Newcastle upon Tyne, vignette engravings to vol I, vol II consisting entirely of plates by Daniel Kinnear Clark, good, Blackie and Son, Glasgow, 1855; 'The Steam Engine: A Treatise on Steam Engines and Boilers,' two volumes, vol I in original half leather, marbled edge and endpapers, vol II rebound in a brown cloth, vg, Black and Son, Glasgow, 1890 and 1895. (4) Clark was an engineering consultant having worked on lines throughout Scotland and these works were considered the authoritative text of its day. A good collection with many plates.
