Pair of Italian carved pine and polychrome decorated Blackamoor torcheres, Venetian late 19th century, depicting a man and woman holding torches, mounted on original painted and gilded faux marble plinths and carved feet, overall height 193cm (6'4")
Female figure has a split where her arm meets the shoulder, also a split and gesso chipping behind her feet, male figure has some gilt gesso chipping on the torch, a slight crack across 1 foot, and both figures have minor age-related chips and rubbing, the male figure's arms appear to have both been broken and restored near the shoulder
