A Sevres bleu-celeste ground tobacco jar and cover (Pot à tabac), date code for 1759, finely painted with a young shepherd and his dog seated by sleeping sheep in a landscape, within a tooled gilt cartouche on a bleu-celeste ground, the domed cover painted with a watering can and spade and a beehive, strapwork loops at the back, blue interlaced Ls and G date letter to base, no decorators marks present, 15.5cm high
Typical minor manufacturing imperfections, there is a tiny chip to the inner flange of the cover which may possibly been done in manufacture as part of it appears to be overglazed, otherwise in good condition including enamels and gilding.
