Three Victorian Wileman Foley (pre-Shelley) Empire shape trios, late 19th century, each decorated in a thistle pattern against a graduated pink ground, green printed maker’s marks and gilt painted pattern number ‘9341’ to bases; with three further Wileman Foley Empire shape teacups and saucers, pattern numbers ‘5044’ and ‘5045’ to bases (15) (at fault)
One thistle pattern teacup shows crude repairs; one shows a full height stained hairline crack; and one shows fine crazing throughout. One thistle pattern side plate shows a hairline crack approximately 3cm long.
One blue patterned teacup, the puce patterned teacup, and the puce saucer show extensive fine surface crazing. The other blue teacup and the blue saucers ring when pinged.
